Tiffinbites Acquired by V8 Gourmet Group

In January 2009, Tiffinbites was acquired by V8 Gourmet Group, a group which specialises in the food sector.

V8 Gourmet Group specialises in the retail and wholesale food sector, and plans to achieve its growth targets through acquisition of well established brands and organic growth of such brands. On 16th January 2009, it acquired the business of Gourmet Restaurant Group which comprises Tiffinbites, The Bombay Bicycle Club, and Vama. This provides the group an excellent platform towards its growth aspirations and gives V8G a clear lead in the Indian Food sector.

Senior management of the Group includes Anoup Treon (CEO and Chairman), a chartered accountant with considerable experience in operations, corporate development and corporate finance. He has established a number of start-up operations which, under his guidance and direction, have grown into substantial companies. He has overall responsibilities for corporate development and the strategic growth of the Group. Anoup was recently presented with the Lloyd's TSB Jewel Award for Business and Commerce Excellence, 2008.

Pritesh Amlani (CFO and FD) is a chartered accountant with over 16 years experience in the accounting and finance industry. His experience has been in public and private practice sector with medium to large accounting firms. Pritesh has overall responsibility for day to day operations, accounting and finance functions within the Group. Pritesh also assists the Chairman & CEO on the Groups future strategy for growth.

Pritesh and Anoup are joined by Arjun and Andy Varma, original founders of the Vama Group that was sold to the Gourmet Restaurant Group in 2008. Arjun, who is the head of Retail, comes from a property development and management background. His responsibilities include overseeing of operations, procurement and general management for the Vama Group. He is an MBA and was a recipient of the prestigious Churchill Prize for Outstanding Achievement in 1990. Andy is the head of Wholesale and Food and brings the experience of an accomplished chef to V8 Gourmet Group. He has run several successful restaurants in India and is a television celebrity chef. He is also a member of the Culinary Council for KLM and British Airways. He oversees the menus for all V8 Gourmets businesses and ensures that quality standards are maintained on a consistent basis.
